Data sources
Where the data comes from
Two sources, doing two different jobs. Knowing which is which explains most of what the product can and cannot tell you.
Licensed
1. Map data — who exists, and where
Business listings come from HERE’s commercial map data: the name, the address, the coordinates, the category, and the phone number and website link where the business has published them. Searches are run by category over a grid of the area you chose, not by free-text keyword — keyword search returns wildly different amounts depending on the word, which makes a search that looks fine return almost nothing.
Map data is licensed, not ours. Rows carry their attribution — © HERE — wherever they are shown and in every export, and the provider’s own identifiers and geocodes stay inside the platform rather than travelling out in a CSV.
Ours
2. Our own crawl — the evidence
The tier and its reason come from reading the business’s own public website. We fetch it the way a browser would, identify ourselves honestly in the user agent, obey robots.txt, cap what we download, and never log in, submit a form or reach anything that is not publicly served.
What we keep from that crawl is a short excerpt and the signals we matched, shared across customers so a site is not fetched twice for the same question. If a site is unreachable, that is recorded as unknown — it is never treated as “no signal found”.
What we do not do
No personal or private contact data.
We collect business contact details that the business itself publishes — the address on the contact page, the number on the map listing — and nothing behind a login.
No email verification pings, no catch-all guessing, no pattern-built addresses.
No sending.
We deliver the list; outreach happens in your own tooling.
How long we keep it
Map-derived detail — address, coordinates, phone number, review counts — expires on a 30-day clock and is erased from the lead when it does. What survives is the business’s identity and our own work: the score, the reason, the website evidence. That is deliberate: a lead that forgot which business it was would be rediscovered as new on your next run and billed twice.
Your account data and your credit history are kept while the account exists; financial records are retained after closure because we are required to keep them. The privacy page has the detail.
Coverage, measured
Whether a vertical yields email addresses depends entirely on whether its businesses have websites, because that is where an address is read from. Measured:
| Vertical | Has a website | Has a phone number |
|---|---|---|
| Wellness & spa | 88% | 92% |
| Health services | 86% | 94% |
| Restaurants | 83% | 93% |
| Physiotherapy | 71% | 94% |
| Dentists | 26% | 100% |

If you are a business we listed
Write to [email protected] and we will suppress your contact details across every account, erase the copies we hold, and never deliver them again — including to customers whose future searches would have matched you. There is no form and no account needed; an email naming the address or number is enough.
